Commodore

The Commodore is in charge of the club as a whole, its smooth running, and ensuring work is delegated around committee members. The Commodore chairs at club meetings, attends all Sports Federation meetings, liaises with RUSU and Burghfield Sailing Club. The Commodore is also in charge of sorting out agreed dates for the RUSC event, the Wet Dream. Your current RUSC Commodore is;

Vice Commodore

Runs alongside the Commodore aiding in everything that is delegated to him/her. The Vice Commodore also takes over the Commodore's position when the Commodore is unavailable for any reason (illness, etc). Finally, the Vice Commodore is responsible for submitting sponsorship requests. Your current Vice Commodore is;

Treasurer

The Treasurer is in charge of the club's money through the University accounts. He/she is responsible for paying everyone who is owed, and also advising on what the best use of funds is for our various accounts. The Treasurer is responsible for keeping a track on the reserve account to check we have sufficient money for emergencies. The Treasurer is also responsible for handling entry fees and deposits for the Wet Dream, and sorting out all the expenses the club incurs. Your current RUSC Treasurer is;

Social Sec.

The Social Secretary is in charge of what the club does as a social group. He/she is responsible for all the bookings and organising everyone in the club to know the social agenda. The Social Secretary is responsible for sorting out a social for the other universities to go to on the weekend of the Wet Dream. Your current RUSC Social Sec is;

Team Captain

The Team Captain is in charge of deciding what events the club should take part in, and who should go and race at them. The Team Captain is responsible for organising team racing training sessions and liaising with Burghfield’s team racing captain. The Team Captain is also responsible for organising the race order and the sailing areas at the Wet Dream event. Your current RUSC Team Captain is;

Secretary

The Secretary is responsible for ensuring all the club paperwork is up to date. The Secretary takes minutes at meetings, and is in charge of e-mailing all committee members, where the e-mail content can be decided in advance. The Secretary is also responsible for placing the event of the BUSA calendar and collecting entries from universities wishing to participate. Your current RUSC Secretary is;

Bosuns

The Bosuns are responsible for looking after our club equipment. They must maintain the boats and keep the shed in reasonable condition. Any improvements to kit are very desirable, and the Bosuns therefore have access to money to do this. To ensure smooth running of the Wet Dream, the Bosuns must ensure that in the run up to the event the boats are in suitable condition for sailing in all weather conditions.
